Cookie policy
Last updated: 8 October 2026
This policy explains which cookies and similar technologies (such as browser local storage) are used on the website givefeedback.io, in the web application app.givefeedback.io, and by the feedback widget that our customers add to their own websites. The provider is Realise 4 Consultancy Limited (see the legal notice).
Your choice
On the website, we only use cookies that are strictly necessary, plus one optional category: analytics. Analytics cookies are off by default. They are only set if you click "Accept analytics" in the cookie banner. "Reject" is just as easy, and the site works exactly the same either way.
You can change your mind at any time with the Cookie settings link in the footer of every page. If you withdraw consent, we delete the analytics cookies we can access and stop loading Google Analytics.
Website (givefeedback.io)
| Name | Type | Purpose | Duration | Set by |
|---|---|---|---|---|
gf-consent (local storage) | Strictly necessary | Remembers your cookie choice so we don't ask on every page | 12 months, then we ask again | givefeedback.io |
_ga | Analytics (optional) | Distinguishes visitors to count visits and see which pages are used | 2 years | Google Analytics |
_ga_<container-id> | Analytics (optional) | Keeps the state of the current session for the same purpose | 2 years | Google Analytics |
Google Analytics 4 is provided by Google Ireland Limited. We use it only to understand, in aggregate, which pages are useful. We have turned off Google signals and ad personalisation, and we don't use it for advertising. Google Analytics 4 does not log or store IP addresses. Google may process data outside the European Economic Area; see the privacy policy for the safeguards that apply.
The website doesn't use advertising, social-media or tracking pixels, and it doesn't load fonts or videos from third parties: they are served from our own domain.
Web application (app.givefeedback.io)
When you sign in to the app, it uses cookies that are strictly necessary to run the service, so they don't need consent:
| Name | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
givefeedback_session | Keeps you signed in and links your requests to your account | 2 hours of inactivity, or until you sign out |
XSRF-TOKEN | Protects forms against cross-site request forgery | Same as the session |
remember_web_… | Keeps you signed in if you tick "Remember me" or sign in with Google | Up to 400 days, or until you sign out |
__stripe_mid, __stripe_sid | Set by Stripe on billing pages to prevent payment fraud | 1 year / 30 minutes |
_GRECAPTCHA | Set by Google reCAPTCHA on the sign-up form to block automated sign-ups | 6 months |
locale, gf_onboarding_dismissed_at (local storage) | Remember your language and whether you closed the welcome guide | Until you clear your browser data |
These are all strictly necessary for security or for features you ask for, so they don't need consent. The app doesn't use analytics or advertising cookies. If you choose "Sign in with Google", Google sets its own cookies on Google's sign-in pages, under Google's policies.
Feedback widget on our customers' websites
The GiveFeedback.io widget that our customers add to their websites does not set cookies. When someone sends feedback, the widget reads technical information from their browser (such as browser version, operating system, screen size, language and time zone) and sends it with the report. Our customers are responsible for informing their own visitors about the widget in their own privacy and cookie notices.
How to control cookies in your browser
Besides the cookie banner, you can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Blocking the strictly necessary cookies of the app will prevent you from signing in.
Changes and contact
If we add or change optional cookies, we'll update this policy and ask for your consent again. Questions: hello@givefeedback.io.
